Village Green, Bar Harbor
While on Mt Desert Island, we took a bus tour of Acady National Park and on the second day, we went to Southwest Harbor.
The Island Explorer free shuttle buses are very convenient. Next time here, we might stay closer to Southwest Harbor and we might manage the logistics better to take the ferry or mail boat to Great Cranberry Island and Ilesford.

Easy commute to DC – bus from the park (which has bus station) to College Park Metro station. Quick ride into the city, change to another line or dccirculator bus. Wednesday national American history museum. Thursday holocaust museum – great. Friday (finally got tickets) nation museum of African American History & Culture – good museum & great food. Well managed & huge park with adequate cafe.

Finally snagged the shady spots but far from water.

Molly rolling in the grass.

Buster stretching his legs. Not as interesting (varied) as Bow River campground in Medicine Bow National Forest (WY) but a welcome change from the confines of the RV.

Not de older park. Lots of trees. Poor Buster – too much change for him. John has been wonderful setting up a run for him. Almost lost so Buster in Winnemucca – he spent th night out. Then he had a serious heat reach ion in Nebraska – it was HOT!
