Pastoral scene on the fjord

Visit to Viking museum

And our guides show us mounds that were walls for early local parliament.

Cruising to Akureyri

Note small settlement along the fjord.

Isafjorthur

We had a brief stop in this pretty town which has a good herring museum. In the photo we see at the top avalanche fences. Then mid mountain, Alaskan lupine (invasive but pretty).

From Hólmavík

In museum of sorcery & witchcraft, our guide tells us how to raise the dead. Man made ‘nests’ for guillemots. Trolls turned to stone – larger one is female, other male. Church where we learned about religion in Iceland. Feeding orphans at sheep farm museum.

Around Grundarfjoerthur (town)

Beautiful!
